1. Introduction
Note: Сlick the “Save Changes” button in order to apply any changes. |
1.1. Open your WordPress Admin Dashboard and find the menu on the left.
1.2. Open the “SMTP” > “Settings” page on the dashboard.
2. Settings
Use the options of the “Settings” page to make the global settings for the plugin.
Note: In this User Guide, all settings were customized for the Google servers. You have to create the Gmail account and enable the IMAP access first. |
2.1. Status
Use the “Status” option to be sure, whether the configurations were correct.
2.1.1. After sending test mail the “Status” option will change the value to the “Confirmed” one.
2.2. Test Email Address
Use the “Test Email Address” option to test the email delivery. Enter the necessary email to the option field.
2.2.1. Click the “Choose File” button to select a file for the test message
2.2.2. Enable the “Log” option to display the log.
2.2.3. Click the “Send Now” button to send the test email to the entered address.
2.2.5. After successful email receiving click the “Settings Are Correct” button to finish the confirmation.
2.2.6. The “Status” option will change the value to the “Confirmed” one.
2.3. From Fields Importance
Enable the “Form Fields Importance” option to set the email “From” values.
2.4. From Email Address
Use the “From Email Address” option to specify which email should be used in the message “From” field.
Note: For the proper work with the Google servers set your email in the following format [email protected]. |
2.5. From Name
Use the “From Name” option to set the name that should be used in the message “From” field.
2.6. SMTP Host
Use the “SMTP Host” option to set the mail server host name or IP address.
Note: For the proper work set the correct SMTP host for your mail server. For Google, you can find the appropriate info here. |
2.7. SMTP Connection Type
Use the “SMTP Connection Type” option to set the type of SMTP connection.
Note: For the proper work choose the correct Connection Type. For Google, you can find the appropriate info here. |
2.7.1. Choose “None” if the mail server doesn't use a secure connection.
2.7.2. Choose “SSL” to set the Secure Sockets Layer protocol type. For the Google servers set the “SSL” connection type.
2.7.3. Choose “TLS” to set the Transport Layer Security protocol type.
2.8. SMTP Port
Use the “SMTP Port” option to set the appropriate mail server port. For the Google server use the “465” as a port value.
Note: For the proper work set the correct SMTP port for your mail server. For Google, you can find the appropriate info here. |
2.9. SMTP Authentication
Enable the “SMTP Authentication” option to use the SMTP Authentication.
2.10. SMTP Username
Use the “SMTP Username” option to enter the username for authentication on the mail server.
2.11. SMTP Password
Use the “SMTP Password” option to set the password for authentication on the mail server for the previous username.
3. Miscellaneous Settings
Use the options of the “Miscellaneous Settings” tab to make the settings regarding the track usage and default settings.
3.1. Track Usage
Enable the “Track Usage” option to allow tracking plugin usage anonymously.
3.2. Default Settings
Click the “Restore Settings” button to reset all the settings made previously and revert them to the default ones.
