  1. i am confused here.. do i need Google Webmaster Tools to have sitemap.xml or the plugin already add the sitemap.xml to my site?

    • Hi th3harold,

If on the plugin settings page (Dashboard -> BWS Plugins -> Google Sitemap) checkbox “I want to create a new sitemap file or update the existing one” is marked, the plugin will generate a new file or overwrite the existing one.
Judging by page (http://deafpiratevideo.com/sitemap.xml) the sitemap.xml file already exists, but it was generated by another plugin.
It is necessary to add a link to the sitemap.xml in Google Webmaster Tools so that Google could index your site. It is not obligatory, it just makes indexation faster. Please read more here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VOJx_OaasVskCqi9fsAbUmxfsckoagPU5Py97yjha9w/edit?pli=1

Hi. I’ve installed the plugin and on the “Settings” tab, I have selected “I want to create a new sitemap file or update the existing one.” However, when I go to the site using ftp, the sitemap file is not in the root directory.

    • Hi Annie,

      Did any errors occur?
The plugin may lack access permissions to create the sitemap.xml file. Please try to create the sitemap.xml. file (empty) via ftp in the root directory and then go to the plugin settings page and re-save the settings. The plugin will try to overwrite the data in the file you have created.
